Unlimited Group presents The Human Understanding Lab at this years Festival of Marketing

25 September 2019

Unlimited Group will be at the Festival of Marketing this year, bringing to life the rising tension between human and tech with our Human Understanding Lab.

We’ll be providing the very latest evidence and insight on what’s working in marketing and communications today. We’ve lined up special guests and lots of content covering everything from how neuroscience informs brand campaigns to digital transformation and the future of fintech. We’ll have the very latest neuroscience technology on show with live demonstrations including eye tracking, VR and EEG equipment. There will also be plenty of food, drinks and refreshments on hand for any weary festival goers.

We’ll also be running 3 sessions across the 2 day festival with guest speakers from the Unlimited Group’s specialist areas, details of which can be found below:

What makes humans ‘tick’? Unlocking human emotion with neuroscience – Thursday 10th October 10:35 | Friday 11th October 10:35

Emotion is a crucial component for building strong relationships between brands and people. But to do this successfully, brands need to connect with people at an unconscious level to ensure their marketing efforts are effective.

To understand human emotions, it is important for marketers and researchers to equip themselves with the latest evidence from neuroscience research.

Unlimited Group have compiled and translated key human insights for different clients across a range of categories, to help them leverage their brand effectively and get closer to their consumers.

Presented to you by Cristina De Balanzo and Dr Andy Myers of Walnut Unlimited who will be sharing these unique insights and provide you with the inside knowledge on the latest neuroscience research.

The forgotten generation – Thursday 10th October 13:00 | Friday 11th October 13:00

55+ are one of the most powerful and influential generations, yet despite accounting for 23% of the UK’s population, only 5% of advertising is typically positioned towards this huge market.

With above average levels of disposable income (they’re actually responsible for 51% of the UK’s total wealth) and a willingness to spend, they are often miss-understood and neglected marketers.

So why do so many marketers and businesses focus less and less on this powerful generation? We’ll be looking at the commercial opportunity in age marketing and how brands can win with the 55+ generation.

Presented to you by Nick Chiarelli, Head of Trends at Unlimited Group

The tension between human and tech explored

We’ll be showcasing the latest technology used to understand the human brain! Everything from eye tracking, to VR, to the latest in neuroscience software and EEG. We’ll be showing you how to understand the tension between tech and human!

Eye tracking
What actually caught your customers eye? With our eye-tracking technology we can tell you! We’ll be discussing how our technology is used in marketing, shopping environments and has become a key part of strategy to refine and develop concepts, improve layouts, POS, messaging and products. Come and see for yourself by testing it out on our sweet wall where we can see what caught your eye…

Virtual Reality
Our cutting edge technology takes you into the virtual world to understand how us humans react to different environments. We’ve created FMCG fixtures, car showrooms, green supermarkets and a Parisian apartment to help brands and retailers develop new ideas for products and services. With the addition of calibrated eye-tracking, we can also see at a granular level what people are looking at, and for how long.

After Dark

We are delighted that the brilliant Jozef Youssef will be joining us on Thursday evening at 4.45pm in the Human Understanding Lab. As a warm up to the Festival After Dark event, Jozef will be joining us to host an immersive test of the senses with a bespoke whisky and bourbon tasting session.

You can read more about Jozef here.
